Privacy Statement

1. Who is responsible
TAG Systems AG, Pflugstrasse 22, 9490 Vaduz, Liechtenstein
Email: info@tagx.li
This privacy statement applies to the website tagx.li. It explains which personal data we process when you visit the website or contact us, why we do so and what rights you have.
2. Visiting the website
Our website runs on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH in a data centre in Germany. It is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which protects it against attacks and speeds up delivery. To deliver the pages, your IP address and technical information sent by your browser (e.g. browser type, language, time of the request) are processed. Our web server does not keep access logs.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. Demo requests and other contact
When you send us a demo request via the form on our website, we process:
- first and last name
- email address
- industry (if you select one)
- your message
- the language and the page from which you sent the request
Before the form is sent, Cloudflare’s “Turnstile” service checks that the request comes from a person and not from an automated program; for this, technical information about your browser and device is analysed. Your IP address is used briefly to prevent abuse of the form but is not stored with your request.
Your request is sent to us by email via SMTP2GO (New Zealand; data processed in the EU, Amsterdam) and stored on our server in Germany as a backup copy, so that no request is lost. We use the data only to answer your request and, if you wish, to arrange a demo.
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you provide in the same way.
Legal basis: steps prior to entering into a contract at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: the copy on our server is deleted automatically after 12 months; server backups are overwritten within a further 12 months. Emails in our mailbox are kept as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting business relationship, and as required by statutory retention periods.
4. Website statistics (Matomo)
To understand how our website is used and which campaigns bring visitors, we use the web analytics service Matomo Cloud, provided by InnoCraft (New Zealand). The data is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany.
Matomo runs without cookies: nothing is stored on your device. We process the pages visited, time and duration of the visit, the referring website or campaign (e.g. links with “utm” parameters), language, browser, operating system and device type, approximate location (country) and your IP address, which is shortened by two bytes before it is processed (e.g. 192.168.xxx.xxx). If you send a demo request, we record that a request was made, not its content. Page views of a single visit are grouped for one day at most; visits cannot be linked across days, and we do not combine this data with other data.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in analysing and improving our website and marketing (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Individual visit data is deleted after 744 days (about two years); only aggregated statistics without reference to individuals are kept longer.
5. Cookies and local storage
Our website does not use cookies for statistics, advertising or tracking. Our security provider Cloudflare may set technically necessary cookies to protect the website and our demo form against attacks and abuse. Your choice of light or dark display is stored in your browser (local storage) and is not sent to us. For more information, please refer to our Cookie Policy.
6. Service providers and transfers outside the EEA
We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements:
- Hetzner Online GmbH, Gunzenhausen, Germany: hosting (data centre in Germany)
- Cloudflare, Inc., USA: content delivery, protection against attacks, Turnstile; certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework
- SMTP2GO, New Zealand: sending of form notifications (data processed in the EU, Amsterdam)
- InnoCraft, New Zealand: Matomo Cloud web analytics (data hosted in Frankfurt, Germany)
The European Commission recognises New Zealand as ensuring an adequate level of data protection. Transfers to Cloudflare in the USA are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
7. Disclosure to others
We do not sell your data. We disclose personal data only to the service providers named above, or if we are required to do so by law, by a court order or by a public authority.
If our company or this business is taken over, sold, or involved in a merger or acquisition, your data may be disclosed to our advisers and prospective purchasers and will be passed on to the new owners.
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The website is only available via an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to our servers is restricted to authorised persons, and our measures are reviewed regularly.
9. Links to other websites
Our website contains links to other websites, e.g. LinkedIn, X or WhatsApp in the share buttons of our blog. These are plain links: no data is sent to these services until you click them. This privacy statement does not apply to those websites; please read their own privacy statements.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have incorrect data corrected
- have your data deleted
- have the processing restricted
- receive your data in a common, machine-readable format (data portability)
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest
To exercise your rights, contact us at info@tagx.li. Please make sure we can identify you, so that we do not disclose, change or delete the data of another person.
11. Complaints
If you believe that we process your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in Liechtenstein with the Datenschutzstelle, Städtle 38, 9490 Vaduz, www.datenschutzstelle.li.
12. Changes to this privacy statement
We may update this privacy statement when our website or the services we use change. The current version is always available on this page.
